Mission Statement

 Recovery from alcohol and drug abuse need not be a solemn journey filled with difficulty and desperation but rather, with the support and company of others in recovery, a victory to be celebrated with joy. Sand Stew, Inc. provides educational, social and cultural alternative programs to help recovering alcoholics and addicts, their families and peers. These activities are designed to enable participants to understand and affirm an alcohol and drug-free life. The annual Labor Day weekend festival known as Sober in the Sun is the flagship offering that provides a drug and alcohol-free family camping experience filled with music, workshops and sporting activities.
